The "Resonance Spruce Trail" is a path suitable for everyone within the Ancient Forest of Tarvisio, ending in a wonderful forest of red spruces, whose wood is ideal for the production of quality musical instruments such as violins, violas, guitars, and pianos.
The resonance spruce is the true protagonist of the trail, also thanks to the sculptures and educational panels along the walk.
There are multiple access points to the trail, we suggest the most convenient one for those starting from the Friland accommodation: The Forest Sound Track
The Great War Theme Park, in the heart of Val Saisera, is an interesting itinerary to discover the defensive lines built by the Austro-Hungarian Empire to protect against the access of Italian soldiers, who could easily penetrate from Val Dogna. The route allows you to observe the remains of trenches, walkways, and caves, which served as shelters or artillery positions. The route consists of three consecutive loops, marked by green, blue, and red colors. All points of interest are marked with signs containing information and historical images.
Rifugio Grego can be reached in about an hour of walking, along the beautiful CAI 611 trail, easy and without particular technical difficulties. The refuge's kitchen offers traditional dishes, to be enjoyed with a wonderful view of the northern walls of the Jôf di Montasio and the western slopes of the Jôf Fuart and Nabois. The refuge is open daily from June 15th to September 15th. During the rest of the year, it is open on weekends (it is recommended to call for confirmation: Tel. +39 0428 609111 / Cell. +39 349 1997876).
The bivouac, near the north face of the Jôf di Montasio, can be reached with an hour and a half of walking from Rifugio Grego, continuing along the CAI 611 trail. The first part of the walk takes place inside the forest, at the exit of which you will enjoy a splendid view of the north face of the Jôf di Montasio.
The highest village in Friuli (1790 m), is a place of prayer and pilgrimage due to the presence of an ancient Sanctuary.
Monte Lussari can be reached from Camporosso, comfortably by cable car, or through the famous and challenging "Pilgrim's Path"; alternatively, directly from Val Saisera, at the agriturismo Prati Oitzinger, a forest road leads to the top in about 3 hours (915 meters of elevation gain). From the village, you can enjoy an extraordinary view of the rock walls of the Jôf di Montasio, the Jôf Fuart, and the Mangart. Numerous and welcoming inns offer tasty typical dishes of the tradition.
The Alpe Adria Radweg CAAR project is an example of cross-border cooperation for the development of sustainable mobility, born from the will of the three participating regions (Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Land Salzburg, and Land Carinthia) to identify a cross-border cycle route that, connecting Salzburg with Grado, overcomes the physical barrier constituted by the Alps and establishes a direct connection between the Central European cycle network and the Adriatic Sea. After the Italian-Austrian border, the route partly follows the path of the old disused railway line, crossing tunnels and old stations transformed into welcoming rest stops. From Val Saisera, the cycle path can be traveled in the direction of Gemona or in the direction of Villach. An interesting option is to return by train. For the routes: Alpe Adria Cycle Path

The sixteenth-century Venetian Palace of Malborghetto houses an Ethnographic Museum that tells the history, traditions, and environmental peculiarities of the Valcanale.
Outside the palace, following the signposts, you can embark on a "mini-trekking", suitable for everyone, to discover the wild animals that inhabit the area.
The fairy tale of Animalborghetto tells what happened many years ago in the magical forest of Tarvisio. The forest of the fairy tale has been recreated thanks to hand-painted wooden silhouettes of all the mammals present in Valcanale.
The route winds through the forest among pines, hornbeams, ash trees, and in a small fairy tale house, you will find the full text of the Animalborghetto fairy tale.
These two splendid alpine lakes, Lago Superiore and Lago Inferiore, offer a breathtaking scenery surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Julian Alps. You can take walks around the lakes, have picnics on the shores, or simply admire the tranquility of the landscape.
One of the most iconic mountains in the area, Monte Lussari offers spectacular panoramic views of Val Saisera and the surrounding mountains. It can be reached by a panoramic cable car from Camporosso or through hiking trails that lead to the top, where the picturesque Sanctuary of Monte Lussari is located.
Located in the center of Tarvisio, this charming church dates back to the 13th century and is an important historical and religious site in the area. The interior of the church is decorated with medieval frescoes and sacred art, making it an interesting stop for visitors interested in history and art.
The origins of Cave del Predil are linked to the mining activity that began in Ancient Roman times and ceased in 1991. Today, it is possible to visit the Mining Museum and some of the main galleries. This area preserves many traces of the past, particularly those related to the Great War. Here in Cave del Predil, in fact, the Historical Military Museum has been set up, offering visitors several rooms dedicated to both World War I and World War II and the Napoleonic Campaigns.
Cave del Predil is also nature; a few kilometers from the center, it is possible to visit Lake Raibl, with its clear and cold waters of an intense green-blue color.
Immersing yourself in Nature and listening to its sounds is the best way to regenerate body and mind and fully experience the essence of the Friland project.
